Fair Maiden Polish "Change Your Fate"

Happy Friday the 13th, again!!  In the Celtic spirit of upcoming St. Patrick's Day, I just had to share with you this powerfully pretty polish inspired by Scottish princess Merida of Brave, and, fittingly enough, part of Fair Maiden's debut collection titled *Be Your Own Heroine*.  Merida was indeed her own heroine, and if this teal tribute was an arrow, it would be flying straight true to the heart and free spirit of The Bear & The Bow (as the story was originally called!).

Can't you just see the moss-dappled mountain glade, blankets of heather cushioning your footfalls as your breath parts the curtains of mist lingering in the early morning chill...?  The shadows are yet deep in the gathering dawn, and through their nocturnal curls a tiny ephemeral light flickers and skips: the ever-elusive dance of the will-o'-the-wisp.  And along their shivering path... fate awaits.

a rare two-faced bottle!! :)

>> Change Your Fate <<

"Change Your Fate" is a subtle and strong Highland teal heathered with peridot green-shifting-gold microflakies, and veiled in a fine purple shimmer bearing the proud magenta tone of a Scottish thistle.  A sophisticated composition as unique and indomitable as its lady namesake, this polish's full beauty was impossible to portray without some diverse macro action (and even then resisted capture, as to be expected!), and so with macro in my arsenal I happily returned to this polish for a second wear within a month to re-shoot... and as re-wears are about as common in my polishing regimen as blue moons, it just goes to show how fascinating this enigmatic little lacquer is.

"Change Your Fate" applies in a thin gel-like sheen that is even and sheer on the first coat, and opaque in three coats (or four, if you are me and a wee bit carefree with your fresh wet fingertips).  It takes a moment or two longer than its initial set to dry completely, then dries to a hard, resilient, and very glossy surface.

"Change Your Fate" may be found at Fair Maiden Polish, along with the rest of its gorgeous Disney princess mates.  The Fair Maiden brand is all about the strong, beautiful spirit of the princess in all of us, and fire-haired, bow-wielding Merida might just be the fiercest and most fabulous of them all.  I mean... it's all right here (even the "fair maiden" part, teehee! :D ) :

Incidentally, while I was training for my marathon last summer, "Touch The Sky" (Brave, not Kanye) was among my most potent of power songs.  I felt like a flying eagle-horse princess (a-ha, a griffin) every time it came on, like an arrow shot from a bow.  I think it came up on the Big Hill (mile 15) of the actual marathon, and I'll tell you what, while I did not feel so awesome in the miles to follow, I felt like a beast running up that hill.  Over the course of my training, it eventually had become my motto: I do not have to be enthusiastic, I do not have to be energetic, and if I don't quite have the strength, I do not even have to be strong...

I just have to be brave.

When the cold wind is a calling
And the sky is clear and bright,
Misty mountains sing and beckon,
Lead me out into the light.

I will ride, I will fly,
Chase the wind and touch the sky,
I will fly,
Chase the wind and touch the sky.

Where dark woods hide secrets,
And mountains are fierce and bold,
Deep waters hold reflections,
Of times lost long ago.

I will hear their every story,
Take hold of my own dream,
Be as strong as the seas are stormy,
And proud as an eagle's scream.

XOXO
