Happy first day of October!!  When I visited the doctor today my favorite nurse was clad in head-to-toe pumpkin orange to mark the occasion, and I was like whoop, Halloween is here.  Nancy is just the cutest like that, she rewards me with chocolates for good behavior (like not fainting during shots) which is basically the only reason I'm vaccinated for the flu right now :)  I respond extremely well to food bribery.  Like children, or dogs.  Speaking of dogs, just look at what naughty Freyja did on a nice autumn hike:

In other news, Lilypad Lacquer has just been bursting with new polishes, as I mentioned and demonstrated in this post on the beauteous {"Wintery Bliss"}.  Many of them seem to be exclusives to one online store or another, though today's lovely is exclusive to Llarowe.

Happy Monday, Twinklings!!  I have so many beautiful things to share with you, and so little time to do so!  It was my birthday this past Friday (!), and between a magical woodland walk, ice skating, and beating le boyfriend at croquet (unprecedented!), it was a wondrous, magical day.  A bittersweet one too, because the next morning I was on my way back to Oregon for my last year of college.  But this year, I'm really trying to embrace the present, and find happiness in the moment.  Through the years of long distance, I am finally learning that it is a choice that I can make.  I'll always be happier with my better half, but I'm realizing that if I just wait for happiness to be granted to me when the stars all align... well, then it will be long-awaited and short-lived.  Happiness is created and nurtured, not achieved or acquired.  And therein lies the foundation of my thesis work this year :)

Speaking of happiness, Lilypad Lacquer has been busy unveiling a ton of gorgeous polishes in the past couple weeks and they will all make your color lover heart trill with joy (and your pocketbook tremble in fear).  Several Llarowe exclusives, including the eagerly-anticipated Seasons of Change collection, debuted with a huuuggge Llarowe launch Tuesday September 16, and I mean it must have been monstrous, because it took a full week for my package to ship out.  It was quite unusual for Llarowe; even on sale days, I've never experienced anything near such a long processing period.  It was making me quite anxious; I was afraid that it wouldn't arrive before I had to move, but then "Wintery Bliss" arrived Friday morning, just in time for my birthday manicure!!

Happy weekend, Twinklings!! If you love enchanted colors and haven't met Lilypad's Delicate Duos collection yet, your dreams are about to come true. When I first saw these, I either died a bit or came alive, I don't know which. I'm going to make a pretty monumental declaration right now, but in my polished heart it feels right so I'm going to take the plunge: this is absolutely my favorite nail polish collection of all time. Probably always will be.

Thunderstorms rolling through Montana have made the sun a fickle and precious presence these past couple days, so whenever some sunshine breaks through the clouds I've gone tearing outside like a maniacal sparklefiend to capture the sparkle on my nails.  My yellow labs, May and Freyja, have found this to be highly entertaining, thinking it to be a great chase game, and so there is much excitement every time I take a swatch.  They are not alone in their enthusiasm; I have been dying to share these wonderful polishes with you all week!  Lilypad Lacquer, a five-free nail polish line that is handmixed in Australia, is one of my favorite new brands this summer (new to me, anyway).  Maybe these sun-worshipping colors will tease the sun out again :)
